Parallel Normalities aims to focus on local residents and their daily lives. By using the fundamental concepts of Natsuki Ishigami’s “Theatre TODAY”, residents will be invited as collaborators and performers of the project, and together, create a daily art-project in public and private spaces. The project’s ultimate goal is to re-discover and present the unique lifestyles of Loei and Shizuoka-city and the meaning to live in both regional cities through artistic ways, and encourage local residents to pull out their own creativity to express their alternative ways to live.
Theatre Today X Parallel Normalities:”Letter from Dansai”
From one town to another. What do we see around us? What stories are waiting to be told? Who are the people we haven’t met? Parallel Normality, in partnership with Theatre Today, attempts to connect, exchange, and display the beauty of everyday life between two towns, Shizuoka city in Japan and Dansai in Loei province, Thailand, through the lens of theatre-makers.
Dansai is a town surrounded by mountains in the northeast of Thailand - 460 km from Bangkok, close to the border to Laos. “Letter from Dansai” is the introduction note; a way of saying hi to the people of Shizuoka city in the hope for future conversations.
Perhaps 4,500 km distance is closer than we think.

Natsuki Ishigami:
Born in Tokyo in 1980, Natsuki Ishigami has worked as a playwright, centered around the theatrical group "Pepin Structural Designs" since 1999. In recent years, she has been based in Yokohama and stayed in various parts of the country and abroad, working on site-specific plays and art projects using cities and communities as subject matter. In addition, she takes part in various projects related to cities and space, such as research and planning on urban design and community development, chairing the non-profit art organization "Places and Narratives," and starting up and directing ''The Cave,'' a creative hub that utilizes underutilized real estate.

จบการศึกษาระดับปริญญาตรีจากภาควิชาศิลปการละคร คณะอักษรศาสตร์ จุฬาลงกรณ์ มหาวิทยาลัย และปริญญาโทจากภาควิชาทฤษฎีศิลป์ คณะจิตรกรรมประติมากรรมและภาพพิมพ์ มหาวิทยาลัยศิลปากร นัทธมนเชื่อในพลังของตัวอักษรและบทสนทนาในศิลปะ เธอสนใจศิลปะแบบ Interdisciplinary และอยากทดลองความเป็นไปได้ใหม่ๆ โดยใช้กระบวนการของละครเวทีที่ร่ำเรียนมา ปัจจุบันเป็นนักเขียนนามปากกา ปอ เปรมสำราญ นักแปลและศิลปินอิสระ เป็นสมาชิกกลุ่มละครเวทีชื่อ Circle Theatre Bangkok
