About Prayoon for Art
Prayoon for Art Foundation is a volunteer-based art organization based in Thailand. It was founded by an independent contemporary performing art management researcher Wayla Amatathammachad in October 2017, and has expanded into an open network by a gathering of art lovers both who work as professional art practitioners and individuals from different career backgrounds. Prayoon for Art's vision is to operate as a bridge between art and society to strike through the limited social structure conditions and beliefs in Thailand that prevent sustainable development of the country's art and creativity.
In 2020, Prayoon for Art initiated the sandbox project for a community-led art city. The project aims to explore the knowledge and possibilities of how we can utilize art to improve the all-around well-being of the community. In 2021, By the management research and adaptation of Setouchi Triennale and Art Setouchi (Japan), STAR TIER: Sustainable Transnational Art Reformation Through Intercultural Empirical Rapport has been implemented in Dansai district, Loei province, Thailand. As of now, the project base for STAR TIER has expanded to different grounds such as Pattaya (Chonburi province) and Chiang Khong (Chiang Rai province).
Create conversations and operational projects in order to present a series of concrete evidence that the arts can open up new potential for social development in various aspects of society; for the public, private, and civil sector. This is not to only nurture the arts itself, but for progressive development in the creative ecosystem from its core.
Develop the skills and knowledge of young emerging Thai contemporary performing artists to match the capacities of those who are thriving on an international level.
